lana's super easy DIY mobile

Recently I feel like I wake up with a to-do list longer than the hours in a day. This morning I found myself weighing which of two important tasks I would bother to start because there was no way I'd finish one, let alone both. That's a terrible thought to have before you even get out of bed. Yes, sometimes there is so much to do that it seems impossible, but it's not. I may not finish every single thing I'd like to finish in a day, but starting with such a defeated attitude certainly won't help me finish any of them.

So, today I'm focusing on taking one thing at a time and enjoying the moments of quiet and rest that I do have before Lana arrives. I know that as crazy as life feels right now, it's only going to get crazier. I'm so excited to finally meet her after all these months of waiting and preparing, but I'm still mentally preparing for how tough her first few months will probably be on my sanity.

One of the things helping me feel grateful for the relative quiet of these upcoming weeks is finished products that I love. One of those is the mobile I made to hang over her changing table. Just a few strips of fabric, a fabric marker and a dollar store picture frame, and I have a piece that is visually interesting for me and for her little developing brain.

What have you been working on lately that's giving you rest amidst the craziness of everyday life?
