lana gray: two months

This is a couple of weeks late, but I guess that's the nature of blogging about a baby. Part of me can't believe she's already two months old. The other part can't believe she hasn't been here forever. This two month stage has been so amazing. She's getting bigger every day and I think we're starting to see the first glimpses of her personality. She's also started really smiling and when you can coax one out of her it's the most amazing feeling in the world.

These are her three most common faces: beautifully peaceful sleep, happy curiosity, and "it's been five minutes since I ate I'm so hungry why are you torturing me??????"

I know everybody says their baby is easy, but this one really is. She's so easy going and flexible. Tom and I could not be more thankful. She's much more alert these days so is so fun to take her out and watch her take in her surroundings.

In the last few weeks she's starting grabbing at toys, rocking her cloth diapers (which we absolutely love, more on that in a future post) and finally fitting into more of her clothes. Those green polka dot pants have little bows on the butt pockets. Ridiculous. We've also had two weeks of solid seven hour stretches of sleep which is just the best surprise.

Every day I fall more and more in love with her. In those moments where she's nursing and her little hand is gently resting on her cheek and she's drifting off to sleep, the only word I can use to describe her is magical. She's just this tiny human, but she's changed me so completely. She made us a family. She taught me that any sacrifice is worth it. She gave me little fingers to hold and little cheeks to kiss.

Life is exhausting and stressful right now, but everything Tom and I are doing is because we love each other and we love her. And remembering that makes all the hard stuff just fade into the background.

  1. I know your pregnancy was so hard and you didn't so much enjoy it. I'm so happy that you are enjoying motherhood. Love reading your posts!
