lana gray: three months

Three months already. I'm sure I'll say this every month, but I just can't believe it. She gets more amazing every single day, and I could not possibly feel more blessed to have her in our lives. Everything she's doing is so new and exciting.

I can't say that life is back to normal, or even easy, but I definitely feel like the new baby fog is lifting. We're learning her rhythms and cues better and better, and that makes it easier to plan our time accordingly. She's started going to bed earlier and, most nights, sleeping longer. We still have our share of sleepless nights and unexplained fussing, but we're feeling more confident about following our instincts and that makes all the difference.

She is getting so big it's unbelievable. We've been talking a lot lately about how little she was when we first brought her home. She was just this tiny ball of squinty eyes and uncertain movements. Now she has the happiest, most inquisitive eyes and she's learning how to really control her arms and legs. She can grab and hold onto toys (she love to chew on Sophie's ears and nose), and she's has rolled from tummy to back twice. In the last couple of weeks she's started sleeping in her crib. We miss having her in our room, but I love seeing her in the nursery that we poured so much love into.

Watching her grow and interact with her world in new ways is so wonderful. I could never have imagined being able to love this way. I just feel desperate to store up every little moment--every sound, every adorable yawn, every sleepy stretch. She's growing faster than I know what to do with. As excited as I am for what the next stage will bring, I don't want to miss out on a single second of this one, because it's incredible.

Right now she loves her sleep sack, ceiling fans, being outside, laying on her playmat, giving big kisses to Sophie the giraffe, smiling, and bath time. She is such an unimaginable blessing in our lives.

Lana Gray, we love you more than you could know.
